Taste the Barossa is a premium full-day journey through one of Australia’s great wine regions, combining exceptional wine, regional food, local stories and experiences you won’t find on a standard cellar door tour.
Your day begins with pick-up from selected Adelaide CBD and Glenelg locations before travelling through the scenic Adelaide Hills. Along the way, your knowledgeable local guide brings the region to life with stories, history and a little humour as the landscape opens into the Barossa Valley.
Our first wine experience is at Kies Family Wines, a sixth-generation Barossa family winery in Lyndoch. Step beyond the usual cellar door and into their private barrel room for an exclusive structured tasting surrounded by the working winery. Taste a selection of wines while hearing more about the Kies family, their vineyards and generations of Barossa winemaking.
From Kies, we continue to the magnificent Chateau Tanunda, one of the Barossa’s most historic and recognisable estates. Established in 1890, its impressive bluestone winery has been part of the region’s story for more than 135 years. Take time to explore the estate at your own pace before enjoying a structured tasting in this remarkable setting.
Lunch is a real part of the experience. We head to Melba’s in Angaston for a long, relaxed regional platter showcasing local South Australian produce, accompanied by your choice of a glass of Yalumba wine or soft drink. There’s plenty of time to sit back, enjoy the food and surroundings, and make the most of the slower pace.
Before we leave, enjoy an exclusive private Yalumba fortified wine and Melba’s chocolate tasting reserved for Taste the Barossa guests. It’s a special addition to the day and a chance to experience two much-loved South Australian names together in a completely different way.
From Angaston, we continue through the Barossa to Rosenvale Vineyards for our final wine experience. Rosenvale is a three-generation family vineyard and winery with a strong connection to the land and a focus on wines made from their own vineyards. Settle in for a private structured tasting while hearing more about the family, the vineyards and the hands-on approach behind each bottle.
Our journey through the Barossa finishes along iconic Seppeltsfield Road, one of the region’s most recognisable drives. Sit back and take in the palm-lined scenery while your guide shares the stories behind the road, its historic estates and the people who helped shape this part of the Barossa.
After a day of exceptional wine, regional food and genuine Barossa hospitality, relax on the journey back to Adelaide, returning at approximately 5:30pm.
Taste the Barossa is all about enjoying the region properly, with exclusive tasting experiences, passionate local producers and plenty of time to appreciate each stop without feeling rushed.
